Investing in a Good Wardrobe System

People today do not need the hassle of menial household tasks on top of their hectic nine-to-five lifestyles, and things like sorting out your sock draw or re-arranging your wardrobe are very low on the list of to-do’s. It is because of this that many people with wardrobes are now investing in wardrobe systems, thereby allowing them to sort out the mess that was their clothes into a more organised system.

This wardrobe system basically fits into the wardrobe and is made up of shelves and drawers designed especially to separate your clothes while keeping them easily within your reach when you need them.

As you well know, one of the biggest blights of any wardrobe are moths and their insatiable appetite for munching our clothes. Normally the only solution would be to purchase mothballs and hope for the best. But there is an alternative to mothballs and the horrible smell they transfer to our clothes, and that comes in the form of a wardrobe system made from red cedar wood. The reason? Well, red cedar has natural resins that act as an insect repellent while also preventing moisture. Not to mention the great scent of the wood. This is not the only reason red cedar is a good choice though. Because it is a light wood, all the bits can be arranged and rearranged as frequently as you want with no danger to your back!

While some wardrobe systems can be made from plastic or even material covered wire frames, they will obviously clash with the general wardrobe “feel” to the room. Yes, the plastic versions have the advantage of being broken or folded down easily, but it’s not the same as opening a wardrobe and being greeted by the great looking, sweet smelling wood. Not to mention the fact that plastic and material are not very effective moth repellers.

Modular wardrobe systems usually come with sets of drawers as well as open shelving blocks which are all simply placed in the wardrobe and can be set up in any mix and match fashion you require. This is great for organising the wardrobe so that, for example, you can have a side of the wardrobe for long garments such as coats and dresses, knowing that they will not be impeded by draws and shelves, which you can place on the other side of the wardrobe.

When you have the shelving in place, you will also be able to fold clothes and store them in whatever manner you like – a shelf for t-shirts, a shelf for jumpers, etc. If you are someone that has a ton of clothes but are always struggling to find a place for them, then this system could prove to be indispensible to you.
